An acquaintance gave me an unknown tomato heirloom and I grew it out. One bite of it and that's all it took to hook me on this great awesome traditional gardening passion.
Since I live in FL where gardening is sometimes a challenge due to heat and bugs I have grown Shelling Peas (<i>Pisum sativum</i>, English shelling cultivars) off season indoors, and ended up doing hydroponic winter strawberries outside. But my strawberries are still going a year later and I debate what to do with them and all their runners.
