I discovered a little piece of heaven here in NW Arkansas. Being from Colorado and having spent a fair amount of time all over the globe I would never in a million years have guessed I would end up in Arkansas but here I am. The locals tell me that this region ceceded from the rest of the state many years ago. I can't comment on this as I haven't ventured to those nether regions.

Colorado and California were great places and I had fun living there but for some reason I just love the hot and muggy summers here in arkansas. Call me crazy.

My landscaping philosophy is simple, beg borrow and still things from all of your friend's yards. I love to trade plants and love to get them. Problem right now is I am in a new place with a hillside location and tons of clay. After two years of work I think next summer my beds will be ready for some thinning and my first plant give-a-way party. Yee Haw! I have a plant list on my web page but cannot promise that everything is stil alive from season to season. Oh, and no thorny plants in my yard. Roses are evil! (Spring '04 update: I have 2 agave parryi and one neomexicana) A thorny plant I have grown to love!

And most importantly, I am a gardening novice. I use common names as often as the scientific.
