I have found that if you are ever in dire need of a garden trowel an old cake server comes in handy... this from experience! I've also had great luck with plant ties made out of winter-colored panty hose (greens, browns, blacks, etc)cutting them up into rings and using them on tomatoes and dahlias et al - very cost-saving and camouflage-ical!
I'm now adding toilet ppr rolls (torn up into 1 inch pieces) & dryer lint, and "cellulose ONLY" dish sponges, cut up into little 1" squares, to the compost bins - it's wonderful!
