I garden on the Wet Coast of Canada in beautiful Vancouver, B.C., also known as the "banana belt". Lots of people here have "Mediteranean" style gardens and successfully grow banana trees and other "tropicals".

My house is on a 66 x 120 foot lot and my yard is all flower beds...no grass (DH loves it, he gets to play golf instead of cutting the grass). I work at a full time job and when I am at home, if it is not raining, you will find me outside. I've even been known to garden in the dark!
