I have had an interest in gardening since I was a little girl watching my father with his herbs. Three years ago I moved to a rural area of France and started a veggie and edible flower garden. Since then I cannot keep my nose out of gardening books and websites, trying to glean any info I can about my passion.
Just recently I moved to upstate NY where the growing season is depressingly short, but I have my grow lights and homemade cold frames going strong. I will have a few raised beds when I can afford the lumber and would like to sell my products on the farmers market. We'll see...
I am currently enrolled in a correspondence course for Landscaping, and will be taking a Master Gardeners course after that. Eventually I will also take some courses in Herbalism and maybe even Horticultural Therapy..
I am terribly interested in growing both medicinal plants and edible flowers, along with various herbs and veggies. All organic, of course!
My lifes' dream is to own a farm somewhere in the mountains of southern Virginia and become a self-sufficient farmer...
I am really anxious to meet some fellow on-line gardeners especially from the Roanoake area.
