I garden on 3 acres west of Brisbane near Ipswich in a normally subtropical climate. Our rainfall is down 60inches this year and I am using succulents, bromeliads, frangipani and bulbous plants to partially drought proof my garden. This is a real challenge because while its dry now the plants need to be able to cope with possible eventual tropical storms, without rotting. My passion is propagation - I cannot look at a plant without wondering if/how I can propagate it and as a result I have many potplants all over the place, and no shortage of things to go into the garden. Our Summer temps here are up to 38 c and winters down to 5 c {
