Update summer of 2010,
30 years in my city garden and I now find those plants I chose to help shade the house to keep the heat down in summer, then more to block the back neighbors new deck that only views my backyard, have done so well I’m down to 2 tiny patches of sunlight. One large enough for a tomato plant and one for the larger compost pile.
It’s the neighbors newish laurel hedge that has tipped the balance. Time to regroup. ...sigh...
Currently experimenting with being car-free which feels like a bit of a challenge as far as the garden, so I’m back here looking for ideas. Hoping to work this out, since we have an excellent public transportation system here. One less car on the road is a good thing.
