I have been a keen gardener for a number of years and have built up a small collection of some of the more unusual trees and shrubs. I enjoy growing annuals and perennials from seed and many of the plants in my garden are scented and/or of value to wild life.
The plants which form small collections in my garden are old shrub and climbing roses, daphnes, pulmonarias, erodiums and geraniums. I also have a number of cistus, hollies and bulbs.

I'm fascinated by natural history and and am actively involved in bat and dormouse conservation. Another hobby, which goes alongside the interest in wildlife and plants, is photography.

On 27th April I shall be moving from the UK to Gascogne in SW France and am looking forward to learning to garden there
