I live in the "other" Arizona. Not quite Flagstaff... not quite the desert. I live just below the rim.
I have a couple of lilly ponds with some goldfish (to keep down the mosquitos ect.), the beginings of a (very small) prairie, some roses, some herbs and some bird feeders (hummingbird and seed). I keep organic and compost semi-religiously.
