I am new to gardening but am very focused on native plants of Michigan. I am an environmentalist at heart, and a transplant from another state. I am mainly self taught, but would love to connect with others who can teach! I do not have a lot of money to purchase plants/trees/shrubs/herbs from nurseries, but I have a lot of patience and am learning about propigation from what I already have! Winter is long here, so summer is enjoyed very much. I feel very strongly about preservation of native species for two reasons; 1. I believe urban sprawl is wiping out more than we can imagine. 2. I am lazy by nature and know that native gardens require less work in the long run:) I look forward to being able to learn from others very much and thank you for the opportunity to join GardenWeb.
