I'm brand new to gardening. I just bought my first house with a small back yard that looks pretty sad right now. I don't have any trees but my neighbors all have humungous ancient oak trees and evergreens that border my back yard fence. I have one tiny section that gets full sun, the rest is part sun in the afternoon. I've been too scared to plant anything yet except for a Viburnum Mohawk. I got it from a mail order catalog. It was shipped in a dormant state so now it looks like a small twig sticking up in the dirt. I'm sure my neighbor (mrs. english cottage garden) is laughing at me. Oh well...
Can't wait to get some expert advice.
