My husband and I live in a subdivision outside of Milwaukee,Wi. It was established in the 1950's. We love our backyard and rarely see the inside of our house in the good weather. My goal last summer was to attract a redwinged blackbird to our yard. Aside from the usual backyard city critters, to my surprise, I've seen a turkey, fox, coyote, Cooper's hawk, owl, deer, Blue Heron, and a Redwinged blackbird! It was awesome! I'm guessing they stopped in because of their shrinking habitat, but it was still nice to see them. We have a bog and a pond and have been trying to landscape our lot in native plants. We love our little refuge!

I live in: United States

My zone is: z5wi
