I started vegetable gardening in the spring of 1984. It was only 12 X 16. For tomatoes, I started with modern hybrids. Around 1990 I decided to try to start my own seeds. I didn't know anything about heirlooms. I ran across some Brandywine seeds and started them ... I've been growing them ever since. I try to include a couple of new heirlooms each year. I also like to include a hybrid.

Now we have 3 vegetable garden plots: one @ 28 X 28 and two @ 20 X 30.

We tried Field Peas (Southern Peas, Cowpeas) for the first time in 2004. What a delicious dish they make! Now, we will be growing these every year.
