I am a busy middle school teacher with 5 children of my own. My husband is a minister, and our entire family ministers through music. I became interested in antique roses because of the c.1915 home which we purchased and began restoring 6 years ago. Funny, I never really liked roses before, but when I began to read about old garden flowers, it just seemed appropriate to include the old garden roses, too. I have also accumulated many old bulbs, mostly iris and a few tulips. My long-term goal is to create an English garden similiar to the ones painted by the painter of light, Thomas Kincade. Next spring I'll begin adding delphiniums and lupines -- I can't wait! My favorite old rose, so far, has to be my Buff Beauty -- it blooms in such beautiful big clumps and smells wonderful!
