I put together this album which is a summary of my renovation from Day Zero until today - July 2005. Keep in mind that the demolition began on July 7, 2003, and I have just finished installing window treatments, and hanging artwork. I think you will see in my before/after photo album motif, that the improvements are very obvious. So check out OSHNWAVZ's Before and After Kitchen Pix.

If you want to see how truly ugly my BEFORE kitchen was, be sure to checkout my KITCHEN BEFORE TOUR album and check out the 2 layers of carpet on the floor which served as the bottom shelf of the cabinets. After seeing that, a few of you had suggested that I add myself to the list of "ugliest before kitchens". As you shall see, there has been quite a transformation!

My favorite kitchen design book, was The Kitchen Idea Book by Joanne Kellar Bouknight.

Here are some of the things you may (or may not) see in my after pix:

* Two new replacement windows with grills in between the glass
* New sliding glass door (with plans to add a deck next year)
* New steel entry door into garage.
* Lots of new insulation.
* Ceilings replaced.
* Recessed lighting
* Halogen under cabinet lights
* Oak Kraftmaid cabinets in Autumn Blush finish
* Amerock Inspiration Collection Knobs and Pulls in Weathered Nickel from www.myknobs.com
* Silestone countertop in Blue Sahara
* Backsplash 3 1/2 inch square porcelain tile. Pietra by ILVA - color is cardiel
* Armstrong sheet vinyl floor - 84194 Nickel Mines / Limestone
* Elkay sink - ELU2118 without reveal
* Grohe Alira faucet and matching soap dispenser from www.faucetconnection.com at 1-800-349-4024
* Insinkerator 444 garbage disposal
* Garbage Disposal air switch from Disposertrol 1-800-431-2625 (color is stainless, but its shiny)
* GE Microwave JVM1860
* GE Stove JDP78
* Maytag DW MDB7600
* Color of walls is 4W17-2 (Maple Cream)
* Later addition: LUTRON Diva Satin colored outlets and switches in color Desert Stone on the tile backsplash. Here are the outlets and switches that the electrician first put up. Here they are after I matched them to the backsplash. (Can you detect the outlets/switches in between the canisters and the plant? To the left of the blue pitchers? behind the paper towel holder?)

Thanks to all on the Kitchen Forum who have answered my numerous questions throughout this process. I didn't stumble onto this board until I was already through most of the planning and purchasing - but I learned alot by checking in daily. I have continued to do that even since most of the work was done back in Sept of 2003 - this board is like an addiction - and I'm not ready to leave !
