I am new to gardening, but it has become a real passion of mine. My boyfriend and I bought a flat a couple of years ago and inherited a small garden. The last owner but one had planted clematis, passiflora, honeysuckle and jasmine. Unfortunately the woman we bought it from had let it go for a couple of years, so I have set about restoring it.

I am having a lot of fun identifying unknown plants, although I think some of the climbers are well past rescuing. I'm learning as I go along and making lots of mistakes, such as planting shade loving plants in the border facing the house, which of course is more or less always in sun. They all frazzled to a crisp.

Now I have installed arum lillies, japanese anemones, campanulas, and various annuals to fill the gaps. They are surviving very well and I feel like a proper gardener now.

Apart from that I work in film production, which can be a bit crazy and stressful. Gardening is the perfect antidote.
