Hello fellow gardeners!
It is mid-winter and I am anxiously, but not patiently waiting for my flower/veggie garden catalogs to arrive so I can start planning. I am really interested in remodifying my soil around the foundation of my house. I want to learn more about shrubs and pruning. And I hope I will have time to start another tier in my flowerbeds. I hope to use more annuals this year and I hope to get seeds started and try all kinds. I "work" for a couple upkeeping their gardens and at one count, they had 21 beds. I am in the process of teaching my 2 youngest gardening, since my bosses allow me to bring my kids to this job. I also volunteer for the community shrub garden-which needs pruning this year...I plant flowers at our church beds and I do up-keep on close families beds. I am never at home in the spring, and therefore I don't have any bulbs in my beds other than lilies (my favorites). I would like to someday have a lily (asiatic & orientals), phlox and a peony bed. My biggest struggle is that the local deer use my beds as their salad bars and keeping the house clean during the summer months!

I live in: United States

My zone is: z3 northern MN

My favorite forum 2 is Perennials.
