I just bought a little house last summer - my first - and am having a great time discovering what has been planted in the past, trying to coax things back to life and trying lots of new things. I have done lots of reading over the years about organic gardening, so I have book knowledge but am excited about having my own place now to try it all out. Have been gardening off and on for many years, mostly self-taught because it wasn't something we did much of living in the suburbs when I was growing up. The thing that is new for me in this new place is gardening in the shade. I have trees all around and am fascinated with the challenge of growing things in these circumstances.
