I live in southern Oklahoma with my husband and son, 6 dogs, numerous cats, guineas and chickens.

A native Texan, I�ve been here over 13 years now and am slowly winning the battle to convert former farmland/cow pasture to a landscape/yard/garden.

I grow a LOT of vegetables in my most improved soil (compost, compost, compost!) and in the rest of my rock-hard-red-clay soil, I am slowly improving the soil bed by bed and planting trees, shrubs, groundcovers, perennials, etc. The biggest gardening challenges I face here are the hard-as-brick red clay soil, the weather and a large amount of wildlife as we are in a very rural location.
