Just moved to the Gulf Coast area, due south of Houston, but not an island, a couple of months ago. Had lived many, MANY, too many, years in Minnesota where zone envy is the preferred hobby of avid gardeners.

I've spent the last 6 years traveling outside the U.S. and volunteering for archaeology digs, with my 'base' being Morocco. Had a chance to do some gardening in Tasmania (the island state of Australia), Morocco and Honduras and saw great gardens in a lot of other countries.

So now I'm a 'Nomad No More' and working out what I want my garden to be.
