I love the beauty of gardening, but am truly lazy at getting out there and doing it. The perfectionist in me really doesn't want anything that I put that much time and effort into to fail.
Currently we're trying to keep up with the grass (I am determined to rid ourselves of it), and weeds in the front 'flower bed' that we inherited with the fixer upper we bought. We are going on two years in the house, and 1 new 2' by 4' flower bed of iris and hyacinth to show for it.
Our first major gardening attempt has been utilizing Mel Barthalemew's Square Foot gardening method. It's working! Our black thumbs have at least gotten to be a brownish green!
I LOVE cottage gardens, and have 1/3 of an acre to try out this new thumb of mine...we'll see!
