Until 2005 I knew nothing about plants or gardening. Then I bought a new house with a bare back yard. I spent a long time designing the layout and planting bushes and trees. Most of the time I had no idea what I was doing, my biggest mistake was crowding the plants together (they looked so small in their one gallon pots). I've made many mistakes but I also have lots of plants that are thriving and make me proud. And I'm still learning. I also became a hummingbird devotee and have planted lots of hummer friendly plants. I have two that visit daily and their most favorite plant is the Chuparosa when in bloom, so I have planted two more of them.
