This part of California is hot and dry; we call it the "gateway between the (Sacramento) Valley and the "Bay Area". It's one valley east of Napa I like to take advantage of the mediterranean climate and am working on growing tomatoes, peppers, peaches, feiojas, Meyer lemons, table grapes and figs. I would like to try apricots as well; this is one of the few places they grow commercially. In the winter I grow garlic, shallots, and parlsey and lettuce for my guinea pigs.i enjoy cooking, and make preserves and hot sauce.
