In the spring of 2005 we bought a 1950s "fixer-upper." It's in a great neighborhood and has plenty of space - inside and out - but hasn't had any updating. Our biggest project is just getting underway. We'll be opening up the kitchen to the dining room and living room and competely redoing the kitchen. We'll also be having new windows installed, painting the exterior and refinishing hardwood floors. Exciting but daunting. For now, I'm hoping it will all be done in time to host our extended family for Christmas.
