I've turned a drab suburban faux-Tudor house into a darling English cottage over 5 years of gardening here. Ours is the house everyone loves to drive by. It's so fun when I'm out front working in the garden to have otherwise strangers from my neighborhood stop in the street and visit about my flowers. What a lovely way to break through the anonimity of American suburban life! I grew up on a fruit and nut farm in western Oregon and am a natural-born farmer turned flower maniac.

I garden with the support of my hubby and twin first grade girls, and the "help" of two cats and a dog underfoot.
