I have lived my whole life in Ohio, most of it up north in Toledo, but I've lived in Cincinnati since 1998. As a kid I hated being dragged outside to help my mother and grandfather with the garden. We had a vegetable garden, roses, lots of lilies, irises and gladiolas, different annuals every year, a big mint (!) patch and my grandfather's much-envied dahlias. I also love grape hyacinths because of the big patch we had in the front yard. Legend has it my grandma spilled a big bag of the bulbs, never picked them up and they made themselves at home.

Now I imagine my mother laughing at me from her grave because I love to garden! I love all sorts of flowers. My husband and I moved into our home at the beginning of December and it killed me having to wait all that time to get outside in my new yard. You wouldn't think 180 or so miles south would make that big of a difference, but it does. Cincinnati definitely has a longer growing season. My relatives are so jealous. :)

No kids yet, just a cat (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v674/chasco/pets/daddysboy.jpg) and a rabbit (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v674/chasco/pets/02-22-05002.jpg), so I have plenty of ttime to play in the dirt! :)
