My Paph and Phrag philosophy - keep my orchid collection small and conserve cash by buying fewer plants that are choice (from awarded parents when possible) that are once bloomed or near blooming size. Collect only species, self and sib them to select the stud plants, and then trade off their siblings to pay for the fine lifestyle of those "selected few". Then breed the selected few.
Being an engineer, chef, and past amateur saltwater tank enthusiast - I went straight into the hardware. Already had a greenhouse from raising vegetables and herbs. Now I'm into light meters, data loggers, Wardian cases, mistmakers - looking forward to my first devices to read pH and TDS! Already ordered my colchicine and am looking forward to making my first tetraploids this Summer. Also planning on my own flasking with green pods using TQPL's flasks and AMD's.
Would like to make a few Phragmipaphium hybrids, and am currently studying up on chromosome count and constantly asking questions and more questions...
