I was born in St. Joseph, Michigan, moved to the San Francisco Bay area when I was 21 then to Anchorage, Alaska in 1990. I've been married 6 years and we have a black lab Daisy.

"Gardening" to me just means working in the yard. I go through stages, but my one constant is making where ever I live a bird-friendly place.

I've always done a little composting without giving it much thought. The SoilCompostMulch forum has really gotten me going! Now composting is my favorite hobby.
