I have three elementary age children who love to help garden. We have lots of plants taken from my father's yard. He loved to garden & his favorites were fruit trees and begonias. My dad made the best chocolates using filberts from his tree so I have a baby filbert tree or two or three planted.

Winters here are cold, summers hot, yellow-jackets plentiful unfortunately & lots of earwigs. We grow lavender & make things with it. My roses this year look horrible as does the rest of the yard but it's been a spring where I had to spend 2 1/2 months helping clean out & excavate my father's house.

Love the Garden Junk section. I have recently acquired lots of "junque." Dug up a several old bricks from my dad's compost pile so we're going to dig up more lawn, (makes for one cranky husband!), & make a sitting area.

I make windchimes and other things with silverware & am going to try make the teacup birdfeeders for teachers gifts. I have two ADHD sons & I'm ADD so that means my house is messy but we're definitely creative.

One of my favorite stores is the local Habitat for Humanity's ReStore. Find lots of treasures there. Hopefully will find some of the copper pipe for the birdfeeders.
