Important! If you have opted for GardenWeb to hide your e-mail address, I can't reply to the e-mail GW sends me when you reply to my post. I have to come back to the forum and find you, which is time consuming and tedious. A lot of times, I just give up. If you posted and I never answered you, that's why.

I'm a professional astrologer and rookie homeowner living in Charlottesville, Virginia. I'm a relative newcomer to gardening, still learning a lot and developing my style.
I am a student of herbalism, learning about the body, the spirit, and medicinal uses of plants.
I'm completely organic-- the cat and I both nibble on the plants so I don't put anything toxic on them at all. I haven't had any major problems with bugs. Especially since I seem to have this affinity with praying mantises. Have you ever read Barbara Kingsolver's Prodigal Summer? I love this book. It's a fiction novel but also an organic gardening primer in a way. It deals with the relationships between predators and prey, and natural selection. It has a lot of sex in it too! A fascinating read.
