I'm completely organic-- the cat and I both nibble on the plants so I don't put anything toxic on them at all. I haven't had any major problems with bugs. Especially since I seem to have this affinity with praying mantises. Have you ever read Barbara Kingsolver's Prodigal Summer? I love this book. It's a fiction novel but also an organic gardening primer in a way. It deals with the relationships between predators and prey, and natural selection. It has a lot of sex in it too! A fascinating read.
