I grew up in northern Minnesota and began gardening in my early 20's and I fell in love with it immediately. I came to the South in 1994 and only recently (last year) did I begin gardening seriously. I admired other people's gardens but I did not put the shovel in the ground until we went to a nursery one day to buy pine straw. The nursery was going out of business and this was the last day. Everything was on sale! I came home with two Japenese Maples and six crepe myrtles. I went a little crazy from there and now I have beds all around my house. I also decided to go back to college and get a degree in horticulture from Auburn University. I start in January. I believe it is never too late to start over and pursue what you love to do.
