As you can tell from my Garden Web User Name, I am the grandmother of 13 wonderful grandchildren, and mother of only 3. I have a wonderful husband that is very tolerant of my "plant addiction". I still work part-time at a clinic. I live about 55 miles So. of Minneapolis in LeSueur, MN. I have a huge yard. I really enjoy gardening even though I have a lot to learn. I especially enjoy perennial gardening - I seem to get a high each spring seeing the plants "come to life" again. So far I have put in 4 1/2 foot borders along the approx. 400 feet of fenceline in the area of our backyard that is fenced. I also have a sloping rock garden about 60 feet by 5 feet along one side of our pool. There are a few other beds in the yard with rose bushes and shrubs. We just pulled all of our shrubs in the front yard, so I have to replant our whole front yard this year. I try to attract birds, butterflies, and dont even mind the squirrels visiting our yard....even deer...though the raccoons could stay away. In winters, I enjoy a winter trip somewhere warm with plants in bloom, making more plans for my own yard and I also enjoy quilting....especially with FLOWERED fabrics, of course! Ive really enjoyed the Minnesota Garden Forum and making new friendships with all of my new gardening friends, especially those that Ive been able to meet at swaps, etc.
