Hi, Im Michelle (32) originally from Australia, now living in the south of the Netherlands with my Dutch hubby, daughter, 4 dogs, zebra finches, a parrot called Felix and soon a small tortice.
This year (05)I have hired an allotment. I had grand visions of having the best plot with the biggest and best of everything but of course it didn't work out that way. My daughter (5) loved planting seeds so much she ripped open all the packets and scattered them around a few days before a frosty spell, and while I was frantically fixing up the little forlorn glasshouse hidden behind the encroching weeds, the retired gentlemen surrounding me methodically rolled out the twine for the rows of beans and carrots in their beautifully manucured beds.
The previous occupant left me with a few rasberry plants and a whole garden full of seeds which sprang up with orange flowers and giant pink poppies. So I did have something after all.

I'm thinking of a few fruit trees and green manure for the autumn, and next year a lock on the seed and cookie tins!!!
