4 Years ago we bought a 200 year old house just surrounded by a concrete yard. We tore out the pavement and startet a little garden. We try to make it look like an old romantic cottage garden with lots of roses. But it's not an easy spot for gardening as it is rather shady. So I keep on looking for shade tolerant plants and experiment with old roses that can bear the lack of sun. I made (and still make) a lot of mistakes, many plants died. But I would have never have thought that watching a garden grow can give such a pleasure.
