Have an inner city garden in the lot that was adjacent to ours, where the old house was bulldozed. We seem to specialize in broken glass mortar and brick.
You'd think in the city we'd have no creature problems but there are an (over)abundance of pesky squirrels, rabbits, possums and worst large rats that like to tunnel, dig and chew etc.
We stay organic ansd are ammending the clay soil as much as we can each year now for 4 years. Some beds are getting pretty good. I'm a beginner with my perennials and esp roses. Each blossom we get is a miracle to me.
Thanks for al the good advice I've gotten here!
