Interested primarily in herbs, heirloom veggies and flowers, antique roses, native and xeriscape plants. I like the cottage look (but using plants that will actually survive here), and am looking into square-foot gardening for veggies. I compost in my back yard and use composting worms (vermiculture), as well. I am an organic gardener, trying to attract birds, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other wildlife to a new yard that is pretty much nothing but dead grass and lots of weeds. A blank canvas, if you will. : ) I have young twin daughters that I am turning into gardeners, too.
