I have lived in the same Sydney terrace house for 30 years so, inevitably, it has been a shade garden for a long time and roses, except for a handful in pots, are impossible.
However I had cancer a couple of years ago (and lived - yeeha! - touch wood) and had to stop working. The good side is that this has allowed me to get serious about the garden of a holiday cottage my parents bought yonks ago in Katoomba in the NSW Blue Mountains. I first asked the Oz rose forum for advice about climbing roses for the front verandah and already I am full of gratitude for the resulting Lamarche, Mme Alfred Carriere, and Jaune Deprez. They look and smell wonderful, thanks to you. I have been planting ever since and particularly like growing from cuttings and seed I've gathered myself - so I know the history of my plants.

I live in: Australia

My zone is: Sydney/Blue Mts

My favorite forum 1 is Roses in Oz.
