I recently had to retire from an extremely stressful management job because of my heart, so I'm back at it growing things, heirloom tomatoes especially. I have always self-studied biology and evolution, Mendellian and basic population genetics. I'm considered kinda smart, but only when compared with some of my Neanderthal friends...LOL! I eagerly read Darwin and Ernst Mayr, but can hardly wait to read Deppe. Spelling?

I want to grow heirloom tomatoes and melons to improve them in several ways, the purest being by simple cross-fertilization WITHIN the same variety to remove inbred depression. Secondly, by multiple specific character trait selections... more in the messages.

But I have a whole LOT to learn first!!!
