I have grown roses since 1988. I have been visiting this forum since 1996, and using the tips off the forum I have become fairly accomplished at growing roses.

We have challenging conditions in the Midwest. I water regularly. I spray w/ a fungicide weekly. I mix fish emulsion and Miracid into my weekly spray, as well. Healthy leaves promote good blooms. I use organic fertilizers to enhance soil quality. I try to keep a good layer of mulch over my rose beds. I am using wood chips obtained from our city brush dump. Healthy rose bushes are very likely to survive winter, and become more vigorous.
