I have two grown children and two grand-daughters. I also love to quilt in the winter time. I moved into this house about 2.5 years ago and the flower beds had been terribly neglected. I have spent the last 3 growing seasons transplanting the bulbs that were here, marking out the beds, planning beds and pathways, and some new plantings. As a lot of my flower beds are in the shade I am becoming well acquainted with shade plantings and plan to use alot of hostas. I also have one bed that is all bulbs with early spring to late summer blooming flowers. The former owners had also planted about 12 fruit trees of various types-apples, Asiatic pears, pears and peaches. I also have blackberries. All of this plus a vegetable garden site on a lot 80 x 160 feet. I have two pomeranians and some of my pathways have been established by where they like to run. There are numerous roses that were here when I moved in and I've added some miniatures to fill in. With numerous mature trees also in the yard shade is in great abundance. This small piece of property has been a great blessing to me and alot of work. With limited gardening funds, I am taking small sections at a time. I start gardening as soon as the weather allows in the spring until late fall with cleanup. God and I have alot of time together talking while I'm on my knees in the gardens and beds.
