I am the John and Ruth Tyndall Professor of Citrus Science at Florida Southern College, in Lakeland. I teach courses in citrus production, pest and disease management, packinghouse procedures, general horticulture, tropical and temperate fruits, and plant nutrition. For 26 years, I have operated Florida Southern s rose mosaic virus heat-therapy program, and through that program, have managed two rose gardens and a greenhouse of roses on the campus, representing over 300 varieties of roses, most of them old (antique, heritage) varieties. I m also interested in growing orchids, and have had a small collection for about 35 years.
