I have done many things in life that is interesting, but one thing that really got my attention was when I went out one day with a local orchard man to learn a bit about grafting. You put a little two inch stick on the top of a cut root stock. three months later you have a young tree with a desire fruit going on top. I was hooked and have been doing grafting now for four years with the addition of prunning these young trees to get them into the form that will be most productive for our type operation. Since I cannot do landscaping due to a bad back, this keeps me outside and busy without hurting myself. There are very few things dealing with plants I dislike. I am finding that a little knowledge of plants and their likes can be dangerous though.
