Hi y'all,

I grew up in East Tennessee. My family raised tobacco, a vegetable garden, and pigs. After 10 yrs or so in Europe, I'm back in the Southeast.

I'm fairly inexperienced in suburban gardening, but I hve already become a junkie, sometimes spiraling out of control in gardening centers and nurseries. When I see a plant I like, I HAVE to have it, I can't stop dreaming of it, I am controlled by it. I should probably get some help about this, but can't afford to see anyone, since I spend every spare nickel on my garden.

I live in an old mill house in Mooresville, NC, that my husband and I have renovated. I have a very small front yard in full sun year-round and an ample shady backyard. I'm still figuring out what works where, what kind of garden I would like, and where to find plants that are controlling my thoughts.
