We've never really been successful gardeners - but have donated probably thousands of $ to the garden shops over the years. Now we've pretty much given up on our inner western suburbs garden (what garden?) in favour of our new and exciting (ta-da) three acres in Taralga, where we go every spare and available minute.
Taralga is on the Southern Tablelands and has the most beautiful skies I've ever seen and the sort of green rolling hills (with sheep)that make you just want to be there.
We get frosts from around MAy thru to ?Aug and it seems to snow properly at least once a season. It's been reeeealy dry so the ("black") soil is all cracked and what rain there is looks to run off. Our aim is to get going with regeneration of the whole acerage using permaculture principles and practices. We've had the place for 15 months and have just sat and watched. Now we're just about ready to get going....
