I am approaching my fourth year of gardening. My name is Loretta and I am an accountant that gardens to reduce stress and I try not to count the plants as closely as I do. Spring 2007-- 2 x 6 hot pepper garden, 2008--10 x 12 vegetable garden and Dahlias planted in a small front garden, Vegetables expanded to Hot Peppers(3 varieties), Cubanelle Peppers, Tomatoes(4 varieties), Zucchini, Petunias and marigolds. The zucchini and pepper were very plentiful. The patio tomatoes were too tough skinned and the cherry and grape tomato plants need to be expanded on. 2009--12 x 20 peppers(6types), tomatoes(3types), zucchini, cherry tomatoes were plentiful, I could go out in the yard any given day and pick a good 2 dozen, I did the crest and trough prep and the plants made it through the hard rainy season with the water seeping away from the plants, Long Island had a hard year on tomatoes, the peppers were late but a nice harvest, had very few squash, my new herb plants were the best this year, fresh parsley, oregano and basil, delicious in the sauces 2010--3 variety tomatoes, 3 variety squash and 4 variety of peppers, beans and strawberries. out of 13 herbs--4 returned this year--tarragon, sage, oregano and peppermint, I wonder where the parsley went? 2011--parsley popped up in another section of land by my roses, I planted 10 varieties of tomatoes this year, 5 varieties of peppers, 2 cucumbers, 2 squash, and about four beans, eggplants are growing now and I think I destroyed the corn, carrots, lost the dill and tarragon herbs
