I simply love gardening! I live next to a town park with many trees & woodland and have planted numerous berry-bearing shrubs and plants to create a mini wildlife habitat to encourage more birds, bees and butterflies and to augment what already exists in the park. I live on a fairly busy street, so my back yard serves as a peaceful retreat. I retired this past summer and used the time to pull out many of my overgrown perennials which will be donated to the local garden club spring plant sale. Then I will use this additional space to grow more veggies. This past year my family so enjoyed fresh veggies, especially the wonderful heirloom tomatoes we grew. I garden organically, and like other organic gardeners, I just can't seem to get enough leaves and grass clippings to add to the soil.
