I have 4 dogs and because they trample the backyard, I have to have my flower garden in the front - so I ripped up the lawn and put in a perennial garden with flowering shrubs and roses. The backyard is not a total loss - I grow Raspberries,blackberries, gooseberries and mulberries there, oh and grapes (which my Australian Cattle Dog likes to eat off the vine!).
