Recently my husband and I moved from Raleigh to Winterville NC about 2 hours east. We are about 60 miles from Atlantic Beach. Our daughter and 2 year old granddaughter live nearby which is a plus. We are starting from scratch in almost all sandy and clay soil. My goal for this first year is to fence in the back yard and plant the bones of the garden which I believe will be evergreens. So far I am using Leyland cypress, indian hawthorn, and varigated euronemus plus a cleveland pear, fruit for the birds who I love to watch! My garden is my church, my exercise, my refuge from a sometimes overwhelming !Hopefully it will help me make friends and continue learning. Linda :O)
