I have been gardening in the Deep South for almost 30 years. My husband and I live in a small Mississippi town. We have been fortunate enough to purchase 6 acres of land - a piece at a time - over the years. We enjoy walking the woods, having bonfires, cooking, drinking beer and hanging out with our 5 dogs. We once owned a retail mail order nursery called Flowerplace Plant Farm. When the nursery folded, we took a gardenig sabattical and renovated our house. I am now gradually becoming a gardener again. My favorite plants are those that have survived the last 6 years of neglect. I am especially enamored of native plants and wildflowers. I work as a Horticulture Instructor at our local Community College. I became a GardenWeb member after doing a Google seach for Parrotia persica. I found a discussion in the Shrub Forum and felt a great need to put in my two cents worth.
