I live in a rural area of South East Missouri called the "bootheel". The weather here can cover a very wide area of extremes in a short period of time. For the past week and this weekend it was averaging 65 degrees. Today (Tuesday August 17th) it's 87 degrees. No this isn't normal! We usually have very hot and humid conditions in the summer ( 85 - 98 degrees with heat index of 114) and darned cold ( ave 28 - 35 with drops in the teens more often than not) and humidity in the winter with some snow (up to 12-16").
I love growing things so I'm always sticking something in a pot or the garden to see if I can get it started. I live on 3 acres of hardpan red clay and rock. After spending over 10 years digging out and replacing the dirt (forget amendments this stuff just sucks it up, and no...it doesn't perk!) so most of my garden beds are raised. My veggies, I grow organically but I have too many flowers and plants to go this route with them.
I'm very interested in information on propagating plants, wintering over, and helpful hints and tips etc.
I enjoyed reading through a couple of your forums and thought I'd like to join in the discussions.

I live in: United States

My zone is: z6b, SE MO
